The Czech-Moravian Guarantee and Development Bank (ČMZRB), in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Environment, has agreed to support small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the field of waste management. From mid-August 2019, companies that use waste materially and energetically can draw preferential financing from the EXPANZE program for their development and financing of operating activities, both in the form of guarantees and interest-free loans.

Support for projects in the field of material and energy recovery of waste is included among the so-called special supported activities. This means that if an entrepreneur applies to ČMZRB for support in the form of a soft loan, he will be able to obtain a loan with an interest rate of 0% in the range of 650 thousand CZK. up to CZK 60 million, up to 45% of eligible project expenditures. They must use a loan from a cooperating commercial bank or leasing company for at least 20% of the financing. ČMZRB provides a contribution for it up to the payment of interest up to the amount of CZK 4 million. The loan from the EXPANZE program for the so-called special supported activities offers a maturity of up to 10 years, including the possibility of deferred payments for up to 4 years, and is intended for the implementation of investment projects. It can therefore be used to finance, for example, the acquisition of new machines, technologies, equipment, software, licenses, as well as the construction or technical improvement of real estate.

"If the entrepreneur does not have sufficient security, we offer him support in the form of a guarantee. In the case of projects in the field of waste management, we guarantee up to 80% for operating and investment loans in the range of CZK 1 to 60 million and provide this guarantee to entrepreneurs for up to 10 years, "explains Jiří Jirásek, Chairman of the Board and CEO of ČMZRB. , which entrepreneurs in this field can get from the EXPANZE-guarantees program.

The Expansion Program is financed from the EU structural funds under the Operational Program Enterprise and Innovation for Competitiveness and will run until 2023. The support can be used for the implementation of projects in the Czech Republic outside the region of the capital city of Prague.
